 Dear Church Family, 


Thank you for your continual prayers, support, and financial support of our shared ministry of First Lutheran.

 

NOTE: LUTHER POINT FAMILY WEEKEND IS CANCELED DUE TO A LACK OF INTEREST. Thanks to the two couples that responded.

 

This Palm Sunday, April 2nd, we'll have BRUNCH after the 9am worship.  Sunday School families, and confirmation will serve a breakfast after worship with egg bakes and pancakes for a campership fundraiser.   Diane Amans will lead a short Sunday School activity in the Fellowship Hall.  Education Committee will have a short meeting after the brunch in the Fellowship Hall.

 

Maundy Thursday Worship will be at 7pm on April 6th.  

At 6pm that evening our First Communion recipients and their families/guests will meet for a sample Seder Meal. 

 

Good Friday worship, Friday, April 7th, will be at 1pm.

 

Easter Worship will be at 9am on Sunday, April 9th. We will have an Easter Candy hunt for kids after worship.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  The Men in Mission will host their PORK DINNER with all the trimmings on Thursday, April 13th, from 4:30-6:30pm.  Freewill offering.  Takeouts will be available.

 

Many thanks to Laura Sjogren for being our Lector, to Al & Diane Amans for serving as our Ushers, and Gwen & Steve Wold for providing Communion Bread.  In April Linda Tempel has volunteered to bring Communion Bread, and Jon & JoAnn Buss will be Lectors.  

We still need volunteers to Usher.  Please contact the Church Office if you can help.


FIRST COMMUNION CLASS for kids of any age, Saturday, April 1st, from 9-11am. WE HOPE ONE PARENT CAN BE THERE FOR THE CLASS.  First Communion will be Maundy Thursday, April 6, with a supper at 6pm (for the First Communion kids and their families) and the service will be at 7pm. Please let the office know if your child wants to be a part of this.

 

NEW MEMBER CLASS will be after church on April 23.

 

Church in Society would appreciate receiving the Easter Basket DONATIONS TOWARDS HAMS AND PIES BY SUNDAY, APRIL 2nd.  

The money can be placed in the collection plates, turned into the office, or given to Jean or Les.  YOUR DONATIONS ARE APPRECIATED.

 

ATTENTION WELCA LADIES!  The Annual Spring Salad Luncheon will be held on Saturday, April 15th, at Balsam Lutheran Church, Amery.  Registration begins at 10am, the program starts at 10:30. Kali Kocmoud will speak on "Plants, Butterflies, Caterpillars Oh My".  

The Apple River Conference Meeting "Spring into Life" will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, at Joy Lutheran Church, Centuria ($15 fee). Registration (due by April 14th) at 8am; program begins at 9am. Gaye Lindfors will be the guest speaker, with music by Pastor Lori Peper and Jim Hougdahl.

 

There will be a New Member Meeting on Sunday, April 23rd, after worship in the north classroom.  If you are interested in joining or know someone who is, please invite them to this meeting.

February 4th Update

  Dear Sisters and Brothers in Faith, We hope this email finds you well. We keep you in our thoughts and prayers.  Thank you for your continual prayers, support, and financial support of our shared ministry of First Lutheran. We will worship this Sunday, February 6th, at 9am.   Sunday School/Confirmation will be from 10-10:45.  We are having Open Gym at the INTERMEDIATE School for our church families from 12:30-1:30 (we have the gym to ourselves for this hour!).  You are welcome to stay until 3:30 if you'd like as the gym is open to the community until then!  Please invite friends to all of our activities!   Covid and vaccine-breakthrough cases are continuing to hit members of our congregation.  If you do not want to worship in person, you can join us online on our webpage: flcamery, or on First Lutheran Amery on Youtube or Facebook.  Each week we hear of more of our dear members being sick. During Lent, we will be having a book/Bible study "Seven Words" by Susan Robb.  We hope to have multiple meeting times.  If you want a book ($10), please let the office know.
