Dear Sisters and Brothers in Faith,

Hope you are having a good Advent as we prepare for the joy of Christmas.

 

REMINDER: Sunday School Christmas Program Practice- Saturday, December 18th, 9-11am. We're asking the handbell players to be at practice also.  Thanks to the parents for getting their kids to our practices!

 

This Sunday the 19th is the Fourth Sunday in Advent. We will have worship at 9am with our Sunday School Program.  After worship we will have an Advent Bible Study in the north classroom.  All are welcome!

 

FEEL THE WARMTH OF First Lutheran.  This Sunday, kids can wear dress clothes for the program, everyone else is invited to wear flannel shirts if they desire.    

 

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 19th Activities:  

1. Congregational Church Drive Thru Biscuit Dinner 11am-1:30pm (Chicken gravy over homemade biscuits, Cranberry Relish, Dessert). 

2. From 4:30-8pm there will be a LIVE NATIVITY SCENE at Minglewood Inc., 78 105th Street, Deer Park (Robot Barn Location).  Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

3. A Service of Reflection and Lament on the Longest Night: Tuesday, December 21st, 7pm at Balsam Lutheran Church, 1115 Mains Crossing Avenue, Amery

 

THANKS to all who bought gifts for the Secret Santa tree!  

 

Good Gift ornaments are on a tree in the narthex (purchase chicks, goats, pigs, etc.).  Choose an ornament, write a check to First Lutheran Church with ELCA Good Gifts in the memo line. Great way to help those less fortunate! JIM'S BARNYARD 

 

FIRST LUTHERAN CHRISTMAS EVE candlelight services will be at 3, 4:30, and 9pm.

THE 2022 ENVELOPES are now on a table in the narthex area for you to pick up.  If you  DO NOT want envelopes, please let us know in the office.  If you want envelopes and don't see them on the table, please let us know that, too.

 

If any are considering becoming NEW MEMBERS of First Lutheran, we will start classes on January 9 after worship.

February 4th Update

  Dear Sisters and Brothers in Faith, We hope this email finds you well. We keep you in our thoughts and prayers.  Thank you for your continual prayers, support, and financial support of our shared ministry of First Lutheran. We will worship this Sunday, February 6th, at 9am.   Sunday School/Confirmation will be from 10-10:45.  We are having Open Gym at the INTERMEDIATE School for our church families from 12:30-1:30 (we have the gym to ourselves for this hour!).  You are welcome to stay until 3:30 if you'd like as the gym is open to the community until then!  Please invite friends to all of our activities!   Covid and vaccine-breakthrough cases are continuing to hit members of our congregation.  If you do not want to worship in person, you can join us online on our webpage: flcamery, or on First Lutheran Amery on Youtube or Facebook.  Each week we hear of more of our dear members being sick. Update: 2/3/2023

  Dear Church Family,  Thank you for your continual prayers, support, and financial support of our shared ministry of First Lutheran. During Lent, we will be having a book/Bible study "Seven Words" by Susan Robb.  We hope to have multiple meeting times.  If you want a book ($10), please let the office know.
